VIENNA/ WIEN

Vienna is the capital of Austria. It also became the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the 19th century. It was the largest German-speaking city all over the world but today it's the second to Berlin. Vienna is regarded as the City of Music (Brahms, Strauss) and the City of Dreams (Freud). The name of the city in Hungarian, Bécs, sounds to have a Slavonic origin. Schönbrunn Palace is the Austria's most visited sight.

Wien ist die Hauptstadt von Österreich. Sie wurde auch die Hauptstadt Österreich-Ungarns im 19. Jahrhundert. Sie war die größte deutschsprachige Stadt der Welt aber heute ist sie die zweitgrößte nach Berlin. Wien wird auch die Stadt der Musik (Brahms, Strauss) und die Stadt der Träume (Freud) genannt. Eine andere Bildung des Namens der Stadt ist das ungarische Bécs, diese Form hört sich ein bisschen slawisch an. Schloss Schönbrunn ist die beliebteste Sehenswürdigkeit in Österreich.
