AZ ANGOL FÜGGŐ BESZÉD

A függő beszédet akkor használjuk az angolban, ha valakinek a szavait nem közvetlenül (nem direkt), idézzük. Ilyenkor minden esetben egy bevezető mondat (ige) segítségével idézünk, pl. Ő azt mondta, hogy...., Ők azt kérdezték, hogy.... Mivel a bevezető mondat múlt időben van, az angol úgy gondolkodik, hogy akkor az idézet tartalmát is eggyel múltabba kell tenni ahhoz képest, ahogyan az eredetileg elhangzott. 

Vigyázni kell azonban, hogy nem csak az igeidőt és a személyes névmásokat kell megváltoztatni (mint a fenti példamondatokban), hanem az időhatározókat és a mutató névmásokat is! Az alábbi táblázatban láthatjátok, melyek ezek:

Indirekte Rede wird gebraucht, wenn man erzählt, was er selbst oder jemand anders früher gesagt hat. Die indirekten Aussagen beginnen mit einem Einleitungssatz, der ein Verb des Mitteilens enthält, z.B. 'tell' oder told', 'say' oder 'said', 'ask' oder 'asked' usw. Wenn der Einleitungssatz in der Vergangenheit steht, wird die Zeitform meistens verändert: der Folgesatz wird oft um eine Zeitstufe zurückgesetzt.

Und man muss noch auch die zeitliche und örtliche Änderungen beachten:
