Easter is the greatest feast day in the Christian calender. At Easter we celebrate the Resurrection - the rising of Jesus Christ 3 days after his Crucifixion. The resurrection 'proves' that Jesus is God's son.
Easter is on a different day in each year because Easter Sunday is the Sunday after the first full moon after the first day of spring. This festival begins with Good Friday. A typical Easter Sunday breakfast consists of ham and hard boiled eggs or cold pork in aspic.
Most Easter traditions are associated with Easter Monday when most men and boys usually sprinkle women and girls with perfume or water on that day. In return, they are treated by the girls to home-made cakes and drink and as little gifts they get printed eggs or chocolate Easter bunnies and chicks. Eggs are the symbol of rebirth.
